The continuing saga of the issues I have had regarding Paul Robertson, the former GP jailed for stealing from a vulnerable pensioner are a lesson on how we all need to keep a check on our online reputation. Not content with assuming one domain which was similar to a respected estate agent, the perpetrators have also used another that at first glance appears to be to do with my business, Parkcrest Construction. One letter missing in the url and some appropriate search engine and links and up pop these insinuations referring to this convicted fraudster. Once again the domain is shown as registered to one Hamish Robertson, the same name as the son of the thief.
For me it is not too bad – Parkcrest has always enjoyed an outstanding reputation – and it is unlikely that a person guilty of such despicable acts will change that. But I would urge everyone to ensure that they do not suffer because of rogues like this. KwikChex.com, the reassurance and reputation management resource assisted me and featured my case on their campaigning site www.feedblack.com. My advice is conduct regular check about what is being said about you on the web – and contact a specialist such as KwikChex if you have any concerns.
